As of now, the 2022 Colonial Classic will offer the following divisions:

 

HUNTER/EQUITATION DIVISIONS 

 

Leadline - Open to children 7/under.  May cross-enter into walk-trot only.

​

Walk-trot -8 & under equitation.  Walk, walk/trot, walk/trot pleasure.  May not cross enter into any cantering class.  May cross enter into Leadline.

 

Pre-short stirrup - 8 & under Equitation, no jumping - walk, walk/trot, and walk/trot/canter.  

 

Short Stirrup Equitation -10 & under Equitation, x's - w/t, w/t/c, over fences.

 

Short stirrup Hunter -10 & under Hunter, 1'9 - o/f, o/f, under saddle

Crossrail Hunter - Open to all children and amateurs.  

 

Pleasure Pony -Children only, 2' - w/t, w/t/c, o/f

 

Beginner Rider 10/under -First 2 years of showing x's, children only - w/t, w/t/c, o/f.

​

Beginner Rider 11-17 - First 2 years of showing x's, children only - w/t, w/t/c, o/f.

 

Novice Equitation -Not won 3 blue ribbons prior to 1/1/22, adults and children, 2'- w/t, w/t/c, o/f

 

Junior Equitation 13/under -2'3 ponies, 2'6 horses - w/t, w/t/c, o/f

 

Junior Equitation 14-17 -2'3 ponies, 2'6 horses - w/t, w/t/c, o/f

Adult Equitation -2'6/2'9 - w/t, w/t/c, o/f.  Amateurs only.

 

Pleasure Horse -2'3 - w/t, w/t/c, o/f

 

Low Childrens Pony -2' for all - o/f, o/f, u/s

 

Childrens Pony -2' sm/med, 2'6" large - o/f, o/f, u/s

 

Low Childrens Horse -2'6" - o/f, o/f, u/s

 

Childrens Horse -3' - o/f, o/f, u/s

2' Modified Hunter Horse (Often called Low Hunter, amateurs and children only - o/f, o/f, u/s)

Long Stirrup -Adult crossrails - w/t, w/t/c, o/f

 

Tb division -2'3, open to all riders - w/t, w/t/c, o/f

 

Professional Division -choice of 2'6 or 3', nominated by series - o/f, handy o/f, u/s

Red/Blue class - Schooling class open to any horse/pony in the upcoming division.  ANYONE who has signed any entry blank as rider, trainer, or owner may ride in the Red/blue schooling class.

​

Hunter Classic - The Hunter classic will consist of 2 scored rounds.  If you are entered in this class, your second hunter round will be scored.  The top 20 return to do their 2nd round.  Ribbons for top 20. 

​

Hunt Teams - Teams of three.  Over a posted course with the last fence set for all three horses to jump at the same time.   All horses and riders must be entered in another division.

​

Medal classes - Ponies jump 2' for smalls and mediums and 2'6 for larges.  Horses jump 2'9.

​

 

 

JUMPER DIVISIONS

 

Puddle Jumpers  (18") Open to all.

​

Itty Bitty Jumpers (2'-2'3) - open to all

 

Prelim Jumpers (2'6-2'9) - open to all

 

Tb Jumpers (2'9-3') - open to all

 

Low Child/Adult (3') - open to children and amateurs

 

Child/Adult (3'3) - open to children and amateurs

​

Open Jumpers (3'6-4') - open to all.  

 

 

 

All jumper divisions will consist of 3 classes:

Class #1-  II.1 Timed first round only
Class #2- II.2.c Power and Speed - If the first portion of the course is clean, continue to a timed second portion immediately.
Class #3- II.2.a - If clean in the first round, exhibitor will exit ring and those who have completed the first portion cleanly will return for a timed 2nd round after all first rounds have completed.
